This month, Harrison Gallery will highlight more works by Frankie Slaughter. Symbolically, the porcelain envelopes, tied together with a leather cord and finished with a porcelain key, represent our connection to the world outside the comfort and privacy of home. Whether the letter inside is an invitation, promotion, rejection or personal message, the correspondence shapes our relationship and how we react to the people outside our private sphere. The porcelain key represents the locking (or unlocking) of those messages.
